First hospitality job:

My first job in Hospitality was Food & Beverage, Banquets in a Relais Chateau Property in Montreux Switzerland, where I had spent many years and had the opportunity to work with the finest European Managers, Executive Chefs and engage with customers and implement what I had learnt from my Swiss Hospitality School.

Age you started working in hospitality:

At an early age of 18, I stepped into the Hospitality world to explore and understand the filed.

​

Your inspiration to begin working in hospitality:

Firstly, passion for the Service Industry, Global Opportunities and some leading General Managers in Europe, Far East and the Middle East who mentored me during my Hospitality career.

​

My hospitality mentor:

The General Manager from the Le Royal Meridian Resorts - Dubai. Mr. Matt had an amazing personality, perfect leadership qualities, hard-working and always focused on customer service which inspired me during my young days. He guided me by sharing his international experience, positive and negative and he paved my path towards success.

What are your favourite aspects of your job?

Meeting new people from various cultures, new challenges with tough projects, thinking Out of the box, inspiring the youth and inspiring people to join the Hospitality sector.

What has inspired you to continue your career path in hospitality?

Hospitality is like show bizz, it keeps you on your feet and you get to meet and serve guests from all across the globe.

​

Advice for students interested in a career in hospitality:

Hospitality is a dynamic industry, 24/7 operations, being with people and serving them with a Smile. One needs to be very passionate and self motivated about this industry. Hospitality is one industry that has existed since Ancient Time and will continue to grow. Professionalism, dedication and Passion is the key to success! It’s the only business that will no go out of business.

Hard work and self- development with rigorous training is important for career development and its one industry where you can grow.
