First hospitality job:

Refreshment stand in a shopping mall

Your inspiration to begin working in hospitality:

When I graduated High School I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. With two other
friends, I embarked on a two month camping trip through Europe. It was my first major
travel excursion and it was a life changing experience. It is then I decided to join the
airline industry.

​

My hospitality mentor:

During my 28 year airline career I met many fantastic people that helped me on my
journey. One person who was my friend and mentor was Bill Pallett. He helped me
immensely on my second career - Hotels.

​

What are your favourite aspects of your job?

People - true and simple. Whether they are customers or colleagues.

​

What has inspired you to continue your career path in hospitality?

Every day is different. It is exciting not knowing what may happen today.

Advice for students interested in a career in hospitality:

If you like people and enjoy an environment that is exciting and rewarding - then
Hospitality is it!
